Technical sales support, purchase & freight operative

Engineering Company established in 1945 producing low voltage electrical products, wire & cable production equipment is looking for an internal sales support, purchase & freight operative based in their Watford offices.
The Individual:
Will ideally have an Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Degree combined with good accuracy and the ability to multitask and effectively prioritise daily work.
The Package:
Salary: 22K – 25K pa, negotiable, according to experience and track record.

The Role:
1. Technical Support and Customer Care (75%)
• Providing technical information (training will be provided) and identifying correct products for customers’ applications.
• Telephone communication with customers and prospects
• Preparing quotations
• Keeping close contact with the external sales team and working with them to win new business
• Ensuring that the sales team is updated with all necessary advertising and marketing information
• Ensuring that the sales team is fully updated with daily and monthly sales information
• Researching new market areas and potential customers.
• Conducting product testing and Q.C. inspection.
2. General Administration and Sales Processing (20%)
• Order processing and progressing
• Checking Supplier Acknowledgements
• Checking outgoing invoices to customers
• Stock ordering
• Completion of Service Worksheets
• Assistance with product identification of incoming deliveries
• Communicating with and monitoring freight and courier companies
• Literature management and re-ordering
3. Warehouse cover (as and when required, including cover for lunchtimes, holidays, sickness, absenteeism (5%)
• Assistance with all aspects of warehouse activities including stock checks. (Usually one/ two week-ends p.a.)
